labyrinthos: (i'm late to my own funeral)

The road goes and I am finding home in it.

[Going AWOL isn't nearly as daunting as Kaworu first thought it would be. Actually, aside from the paranoia that he will be rediscovered, he has managed to have some fun with it. He traveled through Germany, then Austria, and finally he crossed the border into Italy, turning his high-adrenaline escape into a sightseeing tour while he has the chance for it. At any moment, SEELE's agents could track him down and neutralize him (unless he neutralized them first), so, you know, it's just as they say: you have to live life to the fullest. Rome has been really good for living thus far.

Kaworu doesn't have much money to his name, but that isn't going to stop him from checking out Rome's various businesses. He has a very charming sort of personality that can land him with free samples, among other things. Earlier today, in fact, he ate some delicious chocolate gelato for free and then walked out of a clothing store with a complimentary blue scarf. Now he's idly tightening that scarf around his neck while he peers at the spread of cosmetics in front of him. This makeup boutique is more expensive than not, apparently, and he's in love with the bold colors on offer. They're sharply offset by the boutique's interior decoration scheme of chrome plating and bright fluorescents. Somewhat uncharitably, he's reminded of SEELE's sterile research facilities... but he can deal with that, he thinks...

The staff seems unwilling to bother him about his loitering, for now. He looks to the right, down the glass counter, intensely interested in what everyone else is browsing or buying. Sandro is the first person in Kaworu's line of sight--a comfortably Lilin presence--and Kaworu tilts his head curiously.

He asks, in fluent Italian,]
What are you thinking about buying?

[Sandro's off-duty, or as close to it as he ever gets. Espionage is more a matter of natural inclination than a job-- the pay's just a side benefit, an excuse to loiter in expensive places, only to drive a nondescript car home to a nondescript apartment. Everything is calculated to help him blend in, even-- especially-- in the city he grew up in.]

[He's taken a few cursory glances towards Kaworu earlier-- it's not usual to see a teenage boy out and about at a makeup boutique, after all. Asking him if he's a truant would be altogether too boring, though Sandro's got the gut, if obvious, feeling he really doesn't belong here. He looks up when Kaworu starts to speak, tone casual and friendly, rubbing the back of his head with his hand.]

Ah, I really need to stock up on foundation, but I've run pretty low on everything lately.

[And as usual, he's using his expense account for all purchases. Not by accident, his hand's been hovering near color palettes that are a shade or two darker than his face, though he moves it swiftly.]

How about you? Looking for anything in particular?
